The role
She reached out after realizing she could not rest without guilt. Even when no one was asking anything of her, her body stayed alert, available, and responsible.
As we traced the pattern, strength began to look less like personality and more like protection. In childhood, emotional need had felt inconvenient. Being calm, useful, and easy made her safer inside the family system.
She began to notice the moment responsibility took over and to pause before volunteering herself. Rest became something she could choose without first earning it.
